Bitcoin, the world’s first decentralized digital currency, has gained immense popularity in recent years. With its decentralized nature, it has attracted a lot of attention from individuals and companies alike. While some companies have embraced Bitcoin as a payment method, others have invested heavily in it. In this article, we will explore which company has the most Bitcoin.

At the time of writing this article, the company with the most Bitcoin in its holdings is MicroStrategy. MicroStrategy is a business intelligence company that provides software solutions to enterprises. In August 2020, the company made headlines when it announced that it had purchased 21,454 Bitcoin for $250 million, making it the first public company to invest in Bitcoin as part of its treasury reserve strategy.

Since then, MicroStrategy has continued to add to its Bitcoin holdings, with the latest purchase happening in June 2021. As of June 21, 2021, MicroStrategy holds 105,085 Bitcoins, which is worth approximately $3.3 billion at current market prices. This means that MicroStrategy holds around 0.5% of the total Bitcoin in circulation.

MicroStrategy’s move to invest heavily in Bitcoin has been praised by the crypto community, with some experts predicting that other companies will follow suit. The company’s CEO, Michael Saylor, is a vocal Bitcoin advocate and has been actively promoting the cryptocurrency to other companies. He has also been outspoken about the benefits of Bitcoin as a store of value, calling it a “digital gold.”

Apart from MicroStrategy, other companies that have invested in Bitcoin include Tesla, Square, and PayPal. Tesla announced in February 2021 that it had purchased $1.5 billion worth of Bitcoin, while Square and PayPal have also added Bitcoin to their balance sheets. However, these companies hold relatively smaller amounts of Bitcoin compared to MicroStrategy.

It is worth noting that some companies hold Bitcoin indirectly through their investments in cryptocurrency funds. For example, Grayscale Bitcoin Trust is a popular investment vehicle that allows investors to gain exposure to Bitcoin without actually owning the cryptocurrency. As of June 21, 2021, Grayscale Bitcoin Trust holds around 654,600 Bitcoins, which is worth approximately $20.5 billion at current market prices.

In conclusion, MicroStrategy currently holds the most Bitcoin among companies, with a total of 105,085 Bitcoins in its treasury reserve. The company’s move to invest heavily in Bitcoin has been praised by the crypto community, and many experts predict that other companies will follow suit. While other companies like Tesla, Square, and PayPal have also invested in Bitcoin, their holdings are relatively smaller compared to MicroStrategy. As Bitcoin continues to gain mainstream acceptance, it will be interesting to see which other companies join the Bitcoin bandwagon.
